People are not driving as much due to the recent lockdowns.  Here are a few tips to keep your vehicle maintained even when it is parked in your driveway for a while.

If vehicles are sitting for longer periods of time the car battery may be drained due to the alarm systems and computer systems.

Vehicles are being driven less and more trips are often quite short. Short trips can be hard on the battery because they don’t get charged up fully. Try to keep the fuel tank at least 3/4 full to prevent moisture from building up.

Have your vehicle inspected regularly even though you may not be getting it serviced and get all the fluid levels
checked.

Tire pressures drop in cold weather so check the pressures regularly.

Watch out for animals and rodents moving in to your car! Dryer sheets under the hood and inside the vehicle will help keep them out.

One more thing, make sure not to apply the parking brake while the vehicle is sitting.
